IB’s Middle Years Programme (MYP)

The IB’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills for students aged 11-12 to 16-17 years. It naturally follows the Primary Years Programme and is designed to be an excellent preparation for the IB Diploma Programme.

Education to promote understanding

The MYP, like the other two programmes of the International Baccalaureate, is based on the belief that education can promote understanding among young adults around the world.

Intercultural Awareness – Fundamental Principle

Fostering intercultural awareness is a fundamental principle of the programme, along with communication and the importance of providing a holistic curriculum in order to better promote the development of the ‘whole’ child. This is done through considering multiple perspectives, helping students make connections and by using interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
